Q: What motivated you to become a coach?
I witnessed and experienced the significant opportunity gap for leaders to start with self leadership. I looked in the mirror and started to do the work in my leadership journey as soon as I was aware of the opportunities. Each step I took, the process and results paid off.
Self leadership is the foundation for empowerment and motivation for all leaders. When a leader can do it for themselves effectively, this translates into how they lead their teams. I imagine more leaders inspiring and influencing change through their actions. I am here to close this gap amongst other coaching that I do
Q: What difficulties did you experience/encounter in your early coaching career?
I landed my first online client who did not know me in my previous roles on month nine into my business. It takes time, energy, and money to build a brand and a network that trusts you. I love that Elletourage is doing the screening and vetting coaches before they are on this platform. I wish I had this opportunity in 2021 but hey, it is never too late.
Q: As a woman of colour, what barriers did you face when you first started out in the workforce and wanting to become a coach?
My experience has been different from the majority. I have been very fortunate to have mentors and coaches through out my career and business. Knowing that many women of colour are challenged with finding mentors and coaches fuels my drive to be this person and invite other coaches and mentors to do the same and more.
